HOW Conference 2005: Emerging Future Technologies

I am happy I went to the HOW Conference 2005 in Chicago just three days ago. It was great to meet other creative people and also to make new friends. From June 11 to June 14 all sessions were interesting to say the least. But the closing keynote was one that nobody should have missed. Andrew Zolly, from Z+ Partners talked about Future Emerging Technologies. Why is this great? Well, like he mentioned, I was amazed to see how markets are going to switch by 2015, and why does it matter to designers and creatives? Because you design for marklets and segments, and it is in your best interest to know who your audience is going to be in the future.

I think this is one of those topics that not a lot of companies paid a lot of attention to and that's why they're suffering now. An example is Kodak, and all the recent closings on prducts and production lines. i think if they had hired a person like Zolli, this would have been different.

So that's what I think on how great would be to have forecasters helping you, or also establishing design trends.
